Texas man banned from doing business in Kansas after failing to provide goods after payment


TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW) – A person from Texas who did customized grain wagon enterprise in Kansas has been banned from doing enterprise within the state once more.

Kansas Lawyer Basic Derek Schmidt says a Texas man and his customized grain wagon firm have been banned from doing enterprise within the state, in addition to ordered to pay $2,500 in restitution and $20,000 in penalties for violating the Kansas Shopper Safety Act.

Based on AG Schmidt, Cody Ruddick, of LaVernia, Tex., doing enterprise as 4R Customized Grain Wagons, beforehand in Hutchinson, Kan., was completely banned from doing enterprise in Kansas on Thursday. He stated Shawnee Co. District Courtroom Choose Mary Christopher accredited a default judgment after Ruddick failed to reply to a lawsuit Schmidt had filed in opposition to him.

Schmidt stated Ruddick was ordered to pay $2,500 in restitution to a buyer in Morris Co., $20,000 in civil penalties and the price of the AG’s investigation. He stated Ruddick was accused of violating the Kansas Shopper Safety Act by not offering items to a buyer who had already paid.
